I can hardly believe all that has taken place since I became your President.
Time of change and renewal is everywhere, no less here in our own state, Consider the fact that RI members were nationally
recognized for outstanding achievements among the entire AMTA National Organization for: THE HUMANITARIAN AWARD, OUTSTANDING
SPORTS TEAM AWARD as well as THE MERITORIOUS AWARD. New England, in general, has been a driving force and we look forward
to continued progress because it its all about you, the member. You are how these things take place, with your dedication
to this profession and a belief that you can make a difference.
Today we have new
legislation that respects the integrity of our profession here in Rhode Island. Through the dedication and hard work of your
Government Relations committee we are now part of the Rhode Island Department of Environment and Health Care, under the authority
of Dr. Charles Alexander. Director of the RI Department of Health.
The educational opportunities
that your chapter has been able to offer are outstanding. All education workshops are NCBTMB quaified. Please check out the
upcoming events.
Remember we are a member-driven organization, and as such, we all need
each other to be able to do what we do. Your organization is working for you so please take the time to attend meetings. bring
a friend, meet other therapists, sign up for a class. volunteer for a position, or join a committee. There are many things
that need a couple of hours of your time that can make a huge difference in how you see yourself and how it helps the organization
work smoothly. None of us grow in isolation. We are on the move. so keep up the good work !
Thank
you for allowing me the priviledge of serving as your
RIAMTA President.
